Big Kids Fieldtrip to Arizona Mineral & Mine Museum

Been showing off some of my recent finds here with you but nothing is as great is what nature creates!  Visited Az. MMM. & have never seen so many crystals, amethysts, fossils, azurite etc etc. in one place!  Have been further inspired to include amethyst crystal, raw copper and geode jewelry to name a few in one of my stores at http://sofias1cobwebmuseum.etsy.com/  hope everyone can check it out.  Remember Amethyst is Februarys birthstone.  Check out my red heart glass wedding cake beads while you're at it.

Weekend Trip to The Bead Museum

Paid a visit to my local Bead Museum in Glendale, Az. for more historic inspiration and to purchase unique & vintage findings for my jewelry making creations!  How exciting when I not only added a carved bone Indian pendant but also an Egyptian sarcophagus bead!  Nothing bland here....Large Lush Vintage glass pearls were added to supplies along with a vintage clasp.  Clasps are extremely important to me in jewelrymaking.  Back of the piece even though not always seen should carry on the integrity of the item.   Have pictures but please am still trying to figure out how to add them...

Supplies I am working with!

Enclosed a picture in my profile to document my progress.  Focal point are the lampwork wedding cake beads.   Colors and shapes I have are red hearts, white ovals, pink drums, large cobalt rounds.  These all have floral and gold foiling.  Yummy!  Remind me of petit-fours & look good enough to eat. (with no calories).

Inspiration and Encouragement is IMPORTANT!

My mom has inspired me when she gifted me with a jewelry making book. She said," Why don't you design, create & market your jewelry creations? "  That is just what I am doing and am very excited!  Anything I design & sell is something that I would personally wear myself.  Thanks Mom.

Inspired by Wedding Cake Beads

Am starting a new series of jewelry with emphasis on some lampwork wedding cake beads that I've aquired. Will be including a few photos soon!
